18U-AAA Provincial Champions

18U-AAA Provincial Champions

Burnaby Baseball Hosted the 18U-AAA Provincials this past weekend at Robert Burnaby Park, and our 18U-AAA North Fraser Nationals are off to Long Island, New York Friday, August, 3rd  to play in the 18U Blue Chip Prospects Tournament.

After beating Cowichan Valley, Saturday night 17-3 they found themselves tied in their Pool 2-1-0 and forced to play a tie-breaker game the following morning, which would push the semi’s and the finals later in the day.

Sunday morning, North Fraser came to play, and beat Cowichan 7-4 to secure their spot in the 3pm Semi-Final game vs. Kelowna.

In a nail biter semi-final game, North Fraser pulled off an upset win against the number one seed going into the Provincial weekend with a 2-1 win to advance to the Championship game at 6pm against North Island Cubs.  In what was no doubt a nerve wracking 7 innings for the parents, the players pulled of the un-imaginable and beat North Island 11-5.

Burnaby’s 18U Coordinator, parents, family and most importantly coaches and players could not be more proud of what they have accomplished this past weekend.

Huge THANK YOU to the Volunteers (parents) that stepped up this weekend and leading up to it, without you this weekend would not have happened.

Well done North Fraser Nationals, good luck in New York, a well deserved trip!

13U Spring Season Information

The 13UAA is a spring season league where the players play in an interlock league.  Players stay together for the months of March to mid-June. The schedule will include interlock games, tournaments and playoffs.  Players are expected to be on the field three to four days a week depending on scheduled interlock games.  A typical week will include at least 2 practices and up to three games with the majority of interlock games are on the weekends.

A high level of commitment at the 13UAA level is required.  We understand that other sports eg: hockey and soccer take priority up to March and by April, the players are to fully commit to baseball with only school commitments taking priority.

If you are interested to join the BBA 13UAA team, we strongly encourage you to attend our 17 weeks winter training program beginning in November.  We take a 2 weeks break in December and commence back in January to tryout season.  Tryouts will happen in the 1st and 2nd week of March and attendance is IMPERATIVE.  Final roster is expected by the 3rd week of March.
