BBA is pleased to announce the following 2018 Umpire Clinic dates (Online Registration is NOW OPEN).
Level 1 - Sunday, March 4
Level 2 – Saturday, March 17
PLEASE NOTE: Clinic Registration will be capped at a maximum 20 attendees per clinic, please ensure you register ASAP if you wish to attend clinic in Burnaby. NO Walk-ins will be allowed.
you are not able to attend our clinic date(s) listed above, please
attend another Associations clinic date/location, using clinic date
link below. Please ensure you advise the Umpire Allocator which clinic
location you attended to verify your attendance. Please also request a
receipt (or email a copy of your BCBUA payment receipt) in order to be
reimbursed your clinic fee at of the end of the season (see below
information regarding reimbursement).
TIME: 9am – 5pm (Clinic begins 9am sharp), Sign-in begins at 8:30am, please be seated before 9am.
LOCATION: Charles Rummel Rec Centre: 3630 Lozells Ave, Burnaby, BC V5A 2Y8
Please bring a packed lunch and drink (there are no venues within
walking distance of clinic), pencil and note book. Please note that
instructors may leave the building during the lunch break. BBA will
ensure that an adult-volunteer will on-site during the break.
MEMBERSHIP FEES are as follows:
$50 – 14 years of age or older as of December 31st of current year.
$25 – 13 years or younger as of December 31st of current year.
All NEW umpires should take Level 1 … if you have taken the Level 1
clinic two (2) or more times, please take the Level 2 clinic.
If you are 14 years or older, please take the Level 2 clinic even if
your first time (although if you wish to take both Level 1 and Level 2
clinics, your membership fee will allow you to do so).

Once you have chosen a clinic date/location, you will be sent to Member
Registration page, here you will sing-in to Register and Pay. If you are
a NEW umpire you will be required to become a BCBUA Member first, for
Area – please select Lower Mainland West.
If you are already a member and have forgotten your member ID or password you will need to go to the Member Login in page https://members.bcbua.ca/?pg=login and click forgot password, if forgot your ID you will need to contact BCBUA.
BBA requires ALL umpires to attend clinics each year regardless if you
attended same level previous year. Each year new rules and information
is provided to ensure our umpires are adequately prepared each season.
Please note, that taking the Level 2 clinic will not guarantee you will
umpire Level 2 games (13U-AA or 15U-A) you will need to be assessed by
Umpires are not permitted to umpire their own age group or siblings
games, umpires MUST be one age level above age group being umpired;
We have a new website (still under construction, not all tabs have been
set-up), once the umpire page set-up has been finalized, I will send
umpires information on how to login, set-up availability, etc.
- 16 years or older can umpire 15U and lower games;
- 14 and 15 year-old’s can umpire 13U and lower games;
- 12 and 13 year-old’s can umpire 11U and lower games;
- 10 and 11 year-old’s will ONLY be able to umpire 9U games
For now, ALL new and returning BBA umpires will need to set up a NEW BBA UMPIRE PROFILE, please use this link to enter your information: https://burnabybaseball.com/official_app. This is different from the BCBUA Membership ID/Login information.
If more than one umpire in a house hold, you must use a different PRIMARY email address for each umpire.
Only Registered BBA players will be reimbursed their clinic fee and only after they have umpired a MINIMUM of 5 (five) spring season league games for BBA. Reimbursements will be mailed out to the parents of umpires late August or early September.
